This Power BI course is designed for those who are going to create user friendly and interactive reports in Power BI. We will learn you how to use Power BI Desktop and take advantage of many Report options.
Module 1 - Introduction to Power BI
We will start by informing you about the tools and services in Power BI. You’ll get an introduction to Power BI Desktop, that you will use on this course to design reports.

Module 2 - Introduction to Datamodels
You’ll be introduced to different types of Datamodels and how to create connection to them from inside Power BI Desktop - and after that design reports.
You’ll obtain an understanding of the difference between cubes created with SQL Server Analysis Services, and data in relationel databases. Also you’ll get aquainted with star-schema models, measures and hierarchies.

Module 3 - Reports and Visuals
We will present good principles in designing reports and how to take advantage of the buildin Visuals. After this module you’ll be able to insert, configure and format Visuals.

- Good design principals for reports
- Cards, Tables, Matrices and Charts
- Plotning geographical data
- Formatting the different Visuals
- Conditional formatting
- Import additional Visuals from Marketplace (Appsource)
Module 4 - Filters and Slicers
You learn how to implement filters on different levels and design Slicers to make users able to select data in a friendly user interface. You’ll be able to decide how filters interacts between different Visuals and syncronise Slicers across multiple report pages.

- Background filters
- Slicers
- Syncronising Slicers between pages
Module 5 - Interactivity
In this module you will learn how to create interactive reports containing e.g. tooltips, drill-down and bookmarks, making users able to navigate in the reports and search for data e.g. by using buttons.

- Tooltips and Page Tooltips
- Drill-Downs
- Drill-Through
- Bookmarks and navigation
Module 6 - Layouts
Here you will learn how to adjust layouts in the report. Preparing them for different platforms, such as a webbrowser or mobile views.
The following will be covered:
- Page sizes
- Backgrounds
- Themes
- Layouts
